FEAST
Valentine's Day 2024

Final artwork: "Feast" by Maggie Enterrios, isometric repeating pattern
ABOUT THE WORK

Each year I create a passion project for Valentine's Day: a way to collaborate with fellow creatives or explore a new technique or technical challenge. While I've dabbled in isometric illustration before, this year I wanted to create a seamless repeating pattern that includes a half-drop. It was a mathematical endeavor that took a fair amount of creativity to achieve.
PROCESS

All artwork was illustrated digitally, pattern composed in Adobe Photoshop.
High resolution, large-format. Elements were illustrated separately and layered together as composite artwork before tiling.
Progress: Initial Sketch to final artwork

COLOR PALETTE

While I intended for this work to be tonal (retina-scorching tonal!), after the work was completed I began to experiment with some alternate colorways, landing on this high vibration combination of searing pinks and blues.

FEATURING

Wine, wine bottle, tinned fish, candlesticks, grapes, olives, playing cards, cocktail (+ shrimp cocktail), charcuterie board, roses, matchbook + matchsticks, chess piece, melted candle, pistachios, bread, chocolate covered strawberry and box of chocolates.

PATTERN CREATION

Because why not create a completely over-the-top isometric pattern?
The pattern was completed in Adobe Photoshop using a 10x10" pattern tile at 600dpi.
Below, see the pattern building process in-progress and finalized.
FINAL ARTWORK

The final product is a seamlessly repeating isometric pattern in two colorways.
Thank you for viewing.
