La Kaiser
La Kaiser is a woman-owned jewelry business in Chicago, led by designer Cindy Kaiser. Her pieces are delicate and focus on interweaving different textures and shapes of gold and stones. We worked together on a collaboration in which I used one of her ring designs, the Parisian Butterfly Ring in both diamond and opal, to create a light, floral composition.

It's always my pleasure to work with fellow designers in Chicago, and this project was the perfect aesthetic fit.

My first step was to design a few composition examples for the La Kaiser team to decide between. We knew we wanted something feminine and floral that featured butterflies to reference the name of the rings.
Initial sketches for La Kaiser: we chose option one.
I began by finalizing the composition with a pencil sketch. I inked the drawing with Pigma Micron pens in size 005 and 003. Finally, I scanned and digitally colored the illustration on my iPad Pro in the Procreate app.

Of course, no hand modeling image is complete without the perfect manicure. Big thanks to fellow Chicago-based nail artist, Lady Legs for the opalescent digits!
